all over but the waiting

Aidan's surgery went well and he wasn't the only patient upset in the recovery room. His biggest complaints were 1) the IV and 2) "I can't talk anymore" The cutting of the tongue-tied tendon(?) necessitated freezing and so between the freezing and the increase in mobility he is having more problems forming word than before.
I was very concerned and kept having flashbacks to his cleft palate repair at age 9 months which was one of the most traumatic things that I have gone through.
We all survived this one and the boy is watching as much TV and as many movies as he feels up to for the next week.
Tonight however I am still calming down and besides he has stolen my bed ... Aura thinks it will be easier that way to give him his pain medicine every 4 hours.
