real time sl time

No matter what your version of life ... time passes. Luckily I survived another week. I have some energy left over and the weather is unexpectedly clearing when they had predicted rain.
I have projects galore and dear friends coming over for dinner on saturday. Sunday we'll see ...

I hope to get the Pelican into the workshop and get working on it - could be motivation for more regular posting here as well.

Right now my pelican is just a hull not sealed or finished at all kind of like this pic from http://www.crucker.com/mypelican/ where another build is chronicled.

wow, you're building a boat??? what are your plans for it? I got tired out just reading about all your projects. I get like that too. I enjoy creating, but I usually tap out once I'm done one and want to do something different or new.

I plan to sail it first in local lakes then, if I don't drown / break it, I will try in a protected basin like Sooke harbour or Esquimalt Lagoon. The Lagoon is closer and has a boat ramp so it may win but ... Sooke Basin is much more protected ...
the boat is only 12' long but nice and beamy at 5'6" so pretty stable. with it's shallow draft, flattened bottom it should plane on the water pretty well with a little wind.
First of course is the building ... It could still be a lawn ornament maybe a pirate ship!
