Booting Microsoft!
Well yet again saved from inexplicable failure after an upgrade.
We rebuilt the Sharepoint Portal from scratch.
Updated the old portal after the new went live - all ok
updated the new portal - all goes south!#$!@#%!@
we have rebooted after sp2 and then moved teh tables entire over to SQL2005 and can't access some areas. So we start exploring settings I have full portal admin - I can't get at some settings. I get added to full server admin - now I can't even get the default.aspx to display.
I am thinking ok time to go back to the backup (broke the mirror prior to upgrade just in case.
Then we go well lets reboot one more time ...
Now it works perfectly, exactly like it did prior to updates ( hopefully more securely and maybe quicker)
For this I missed lunch!! @!$!@%~
Oh well onward and upward, more template anmd definition customization as well as business process definition to complete the site framework/layout and design.

Congratulations on the ne job. It sounds like fun already.
I've been told to tell you that you should be working with Macs, it makes life easier - although it puts tech help out of work...
Actually I'm having trouble getting my computer to connect to the internet. We just installed a new router and I was using it, now although I connect to the server, I can't connect to the internet.

It works better if you press the shift key
It is great!
Macs have their own problems, in my experience you can spend as much or more time just on different things.

The biggest problem with Macs is that they are socially maladjusted. They don't play well with others.
By the way, did I mention that I have $10 tickets to see Arlo Guthrie on 9 May in the Big Smoke?
Just thought you'd like to know.
I remember you mentioning that, what a way to celebrate.
Yes but HE is celebrating my birthday at the concert!
Bwahahahaha
Oh, sorry, was that out loud?
Remind me to tell yoou sometime about Arlo's version of the Bible...
Isn't it time to put up a new posting? I've got time now to check out the blogs and I found yours because you commented on someone elses. Since we don't visit very often it is nice to be able to hear about your life this way. I talked to your mom and dad for a while. Laveena Gittins is not in good shape and they phoned to enquire how she was doing. Right now I am in Texas and am using Angela and Brian's laptop. TTYL
